Liam Payne’s girlfriend revealed prior to his death why she left him in Argentina just two days before he died

Liam Payne’s death has been felt around the world due to the fans he has amassed over his career.

The UK singer shot to fame taking part in the singing show X Factor and would go on to have a lucrative career as part of the One Direction boyband group.

His death was confirmed on October 16 and Argentine officials stated the 31-year-old singer had died falling from his hotel room at the Casa Sur Palmero Hotel in Buenos Aires.

Payne had been in Argentina with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy for a few weeks prior to his death as the pair had seen Niall Horan, a former bandmate, perform in the country.

The pair had even shared snaps of themselves enjoying the concert on their snapchat pages.

On Monday (October 14) Cassidy shared a video to her TikTok page of her trip from South America back to the US and explained the reason why she was leaving ahead of Payne.

In the clip she explained why she was leaving Liam in the country and why she was excited to get back home.

Speaking in the video, she said: “Travel back to Florida with me. I was so ready to leave.

“Honestly, I love South America but I hate staying in one place for too long and we were supposed to be there for like five days and it turned into two weeks and I was just like I need to go home.”

The footage continued to show Cassidy’s journey and closed with the star saying she was happy to be back home and to get into bed.

Following the news of Payne’s death fans have begun offering tributes to the star. People have been offering kind words to Cassidy on this video in particular.

“Sweet girl, please remember this is not your fault. please don’t ask yourself if there is anything you could’ve done. i’ve been dealing with survivors guilt for 5 years,” one person commented on TikTok.

“I hope you’re okay, and surrounded by loved ones,” another wrote.
