Contrary to what some people may think, being a stay-at-home mom is not an easy job. They have a lot on their plate, from running errands to taking care of the children and keeping the house clean. Unfortunately, the work these moms do often goes unnoticed and unappreciated.
When Sara got married and became a mother to two boys, she made the decision to quit her job as an interior designer and focus on being a full-time mom. Her husband, Harry, had a well-paid job as a game developer and provided for the family. However, he never seemed to appreciate Sara’s work because she didn’t have a “real” job. He was also rarely around due to his demanding work schedule.
One morning, Harry entered the kitchen without acknowledging his wife and kids, buried in his phone. He didn’t even greet them before grabbing a piece of toast and retreating to his room. Moments later, he started yelling at Sara for not having his white shirt ironed for an important meeting.
Feeling frustrated, Sara explained that she hadn’t had enough whites to do a full load of laundry until now. She told him that his presentation was what mattered and that he was overreacting. But Harry continued to argue, belittling Sara and criticizing her for not doing anything at home.
These harsh words broke Sara’s heart. She had given up her career for her family, yet her efforts went unappreciated. Later that day, Harry received a note from Sara announcing that she wanted a divorce. Confused, he discovered that she had been admitted to the hospital.
Harry rushed to the hospital to see Sara. The doctors informed him that she had suffered a mild attack and he could only stay with her for a few minutes. He tried to convince her to change her mind about the divorce, but she was determined to leave.
After being discharged from the hospital, Sara left their home, leaving Harry to take care of their children alone. It was a difficult position for him, as he also had to balance his job with his new responsibilities.
As the days went by, Harry struggled to meet deadlines at work and was often late. His boss, who was also his friend, expressed concern about his performance and informed him that he might have to let him go.
Feeling desperate, Harry received a call from Sara, who revealed that she wanted full custody of their children. They argued about who was responsible for the children’s abandonment and what their rights as parents were.
The custody battle ended up with Sara being granted full custody by the judge. This devastated Harry, as he had been the sole caregiver for their sons during Sara’s six-month absence.
While Harry was allowed visitation rights, the judge ordered him to pay child support. It was a bittersweet moment when the day came for Sara to take the children with her. Both boys resisted, expressing their desire to have both their mommy and daddy in their lives.
Their plea touched Sara’s heart, and she realized how important it was for the children to have both parents involved. She hugged her sons tightly, understanding the need for love and support from both Mom and Dad.
It’s important to appreciate the hard work and sacrifices made by stay-at-home moms. They play a vital role in raising children and managing the household. Let’s remember to value and respect their efforts.
