A Texas man has pleaded guilty to his role in the death of an eight-year-old girl who was forced to jump on a trampoline in 110-degree heat as a punishment.
Daniel Schwarz, 49, pled guilty to manslaughter and is set to serve 18 years in prison, after his wife got three different life sentences for murder two years ago. Daniel and Ashley Schwarz adopted the 8-year-old, and were her legal guardians at the time of her death. The crime happened back in August 2020, when Odessa Police responded to a medical call and found Jaylin Schwarz dead at the scene.
She had been punished by Daniel and Ashley Schwarz, which included not eating breakfast or drinking water and jumping on a trampoline without stopping.
