Princess Kate Announces She Has Completed Her Chemotherapy in New Personal Video

Kate revealed that she had completed chemotherapy but still has a long way to go to fully conquer cancer.

On September 9, the Princess of Wales shared a deeply emotional video filmed near her residence in Norfolk last month. The three-minute video features her husband, Prince William, and their children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

“As summer comes to an end, I can’t fully express the relief of completing chemotherapy. The past nine months have been incredibly difficult for my family. As you know, life can change in an instant, and we must find ways to weather the storm and navigate the unpredictable paths ahead,” Kate said in the video.

“The journey of battling cancer is complex, frightening, and unpredictable for anyone, especially for those closest to you. Honestly, it also exposes your own weaknesses in ways you’ve never seen before. And through that, it gives you a new perspective on everything. Above all, this time has reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple but important things in life, things that most of us take for granted. That is to love and to be loved,” the 42-year-old princess continued.

According to People, Kate is hoping to take on a few royal duties in the coming months. However, her main focus remains on completely overcoming cancer. The mother of three shared, “Although I’ve finished chemotherapy, the road to full recovery and healing is still long. I must persevere every day until I get there. However, I look forward to returning to work and fulfilling a few commitments in the coming months when I’m able.”

“William and I are very grateful for all of your support. Your kindness, empathy, and compassion truly mean the world to us. To those continuing the journey of battling cancer—I’m still with you, very close. It’s only by stepping out of the darkness that we can see the light. Let that light shine brightly,” the Princess of Wales concluded.

Alongside Kate’s heartfelt message, the video captures moments of her with her husband and children, bonding as a family. From driving through the peaceful English countryside with William and their three children to sharing affectionate gestures, the video highlights the close-knit family life of the Waleses.

It’s believed that Kate has started working from home on some of her passion projects. The daughter-in-law of King Charles III may also attend Remembrance Day in November with the royal family and the annual Christmas service in December at Westminster Abbey.

Kate has been absent from most public events since the start of the year, following the announcement that she had been diagnosed with an unspecified type of cancer. Commenting on the Princess of Wales’ time away for treatment, royal author Robert Jobson noted, “In the past, she lived by a set schedule. Now, she is living her life first and considering the schedule afterward. She will return, but when you’ve had an experience like that, it changes your perspective on everything.”
