Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appear to be “waiting in the wings” as tensions rise within the royal family. Recently, Prince William has been seen issuing stern warnings regarding their influence and presence within royal circles, signaling a potential shift in dynamics.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could “upstage” the royal brand if the Royal Family are not careful, says one royal author.

The Prince of Wales was issued a huge warning over his vision of the monarchy after a royal commentator claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “waiting in the wings” to “upstage” the Firm.

Prince William recently opened up about his plans to modernise the Royal Family during his trip to South Africa for the Earthshot Prize, saying: “I can only describe what I’m trying to do, and that’s I’m trying to do it differently and I’m trying to do it for my generation. And to give you more an understanding around it, I’m doing it with maybe a smaller R in the royal if you like; that’s maybe a better way of saying it.”

And just last week, King Charles had a packed schedule and even attended the glitzy Gladiator II premiere in London, however, he was on his own as Queen Camilla was recovering from a chest infection.

Royal historian Dr Tessa Dunlop said the King looked “alone” on the red carpet in Leicester Square, claiming that there was a distinct lack of glamour as she told the Mirror: “There was no retro glamour, no tinsel, no tiaras… The royal machine has clearly decided that they can compensate for a depleted public presence with relentless philanthropy on ITV.”

She added: “The Royal Family might think they are above such glitzy gimmicks. That would be a mistake. After all, waiting in the wings are ex-royals, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Instinctively glamourous with bundles of razzmatazz, the Californian couple have an effortless knack for combining showbiz gloss and public do-gooding. William beware! It would never do for the royal brand to be upstaged.”
