Police have launched an urgent search for a eight-year-old girl who has vanished in the seaside resort of Scarborough. North Yorkshire Police said the primary school pupil named Gracie, vanished from her family home shortly before 11am this morning.
A force spokesperson said: “We are urgently appealing for information and sightings of an eight-year-old girl who have been reported missing in Scarborough. “Gracie was reported missing at 11am on Sunday and extensive enquiries are ongoing to ensure she is safe and well. “She was last seen by her family at home at 10.30am today.”

Gracie is described as white, eight years old, mousy brown hair in a French plait, rosy cheeks, 4ft 11in tall with a stocky build.
She was last seen wearing a navy-blue body warmer with shiny dots, a long white t-shirt, pink jogging bottoms, and purple trainers.
The spokesperson added: “Members of the public who see a young girl matching Gracie’s description or photograph, are urged to call 999 immediately so officers can quickly confirm her safety.”
