Mom, dad, and their 8-year-old son tragically die just four days apart

An eight-year-old boy tragically lost his life in a horror car accident alongside his father, just four days after his mom died.

As reported by News.com.au, a boy named Harley Smith and the driver of the vehicle – presumed to be his father per the outlet – were the victims of a deadly truck-and-car crash.

The pair died at the scene when they collided with a truck on Willow Grove Road in Trafalgar, 125 kilometers east of Melbourne, on Sunday evening (April 14).

The heartbreaking incident occurred just a few days after the pair lost their loved one, Amy Galea, according to a family friend’s GoFundMe page.

April Damschke set up a fundraising page to help with the funeral costs following the devastating tragedies. As of the time of writing, $1,500 has been raised from the intended $10,000 target. “This fundraiser is to help with the funeral cost of Amy and her beautiful boy Harley,” she wrote.

Damschke revealed that Harley’s mother – who is from Warragul, 15 minutes west of Trafalgar – tragically died four days before her son after succumbing to her battle with cancer.

“Amy Galea was diagnosed with stage four cancer at the age of 39, passing just four weeks later. Amy lost her battle and gained her wings,” she penned.

Damschke stated that Amy’s son was tragically killed after a truck collided with a car in Trafalgar, adding that the shocking events had “devastated Amy’s family and left them helpless”.

“Donations will be used to help lay Amy and her son to rest, anything will be greatly appreciated,” she shared. “Funeral service dates are yet to be determined.”
