On September 25, Patrick J. Adams attracted attention when he posted some private behind-the-scenes photos of Meghan Markle when they worked together on the TV series Suits . However, while fans were excited, the Canadian actor suddenly deleted all new posts from his Instagram account, leaving many questions.
A few days later, he apologized on his Instagram Story, explaining that he felt the move was inappropriate given the ongoing battle between the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) for their rights.
“Over the past few days, I foolishly and thoughtlessly let my trip down Suits memory lane distract me from the real and ongoing fight that everyone at SAG-AFTRA continues to fight to secure compensation and protection from 21st Century. It was a shameful oversight for which I am deeply sorry. I am grateful to those who were forgiving and quick to correct me. I look forward to continuing the fight in the days and weeks ahead,” Adams shared.
Previously, Adams posted a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the TV series Suits (which ran for 9 seasons from 2011 to 2019), with the caption: “I miss my friends”. Many of them are never-before-seen moments of the Duchess of Sussex.
In one photo, Meghan is seen lying on a sofa in a business dress, showing off her long legs. Viewers also see the former actress lying with her bare feet in the air, next to her co-star Sarah Rafferty. In addition, some photos capture close-ups of the facial expressions on Prince Harry’s wife…

While the 1981-born actor said many people were upset that he posted old photos amid the Hollywood strike, that wasn’t evident in the comments. Many fans expressed their delight at the unseen moments. Others reminisced about their old favorites. Some even took it as a sign that the hit series was coming back.
However, the SAG-AFTRA strike website does have a rule that members cannot share photos, videos, or any social media posts that promote the film or company that is on strike. This rule applies to past films, as studios are turning to re-releases due to a lack of new projects amid the double strike.
Suits was the most successful work in Meghan’s 15-year acting career. She appeared in the series from 2011 to 2017. She played the sexy lawyer Rachel Zane, while Adams played Mike Ross, Rachel’s colleague and husband. The two had many sweet, affectionate moments in the film.
After the show ended, Adams remained friends with Meghan. He was also present at her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018. In 2022, Adams revealed that his on-screen wife had teased him after seeing him naked in a play. The actor also spoke out in defense of Meghan against accusations that the duchess bullied staff.
This is not the first time Adams has caused controversy over posting private photos. In 2018, he was accused of bullying after sharing an indecent photo of a woman sleeping at an airport. He had previously argued with the woman.
