Meghan Markle fears Harry being ‘naïve’ and making big mistake as he ‘still can’t trust William’

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is reportedly apprehensive about Prince Harry’s efforts to reconcile with his brother, Prince William, and sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. According to a royal expert, Meghan fears that Harry is being “naïve” in his desire to mend the strained relationship, as she believes he “still can’t trust” William.

The source claims that Meghan is “terrified” that Harry will be “made a fool of again” if he attempts to reconcile with the Prince and Princess of Wales. Despite Harry’s reported eagerness to mend fences, especially in light of Kate’s recent cancer diagnosis, Meghan is said to be less than enthusiastic about the prospect, fearing that Harry might end up hurt by the attempt at reconciliation.

A royal insider has revealed that Meghan remains skeptical about Harry’s desire to smooth things over with his brother and sister-in-law, suggesting that the Duchess harbors doubts about the potential for a successful reconciliation.

The royal insider revealed to OK! magazine that Meghan Markle is reportedly indifferent about maintaining a relationship with Prince William and Kate Middleton, and their respective children. The source claims that Meghan is content with not seeing William and Kate again, and understands that there is no connection between her children and George, Charlotte, and Louis, despite her initial desire for such a bond.

However, the insider suggests that Prince Harry remains determined to mend the strained relationship with his brother and sister-in-law, especially in light of the recent news surrounding Kate. The source alleges that Meghan fears Harry’s naivety and inability to trust William, believing that he may be “made a fool of again” and used by his brother. Meghan is portrayed as being more pragmatic and less emotionally driven than Harry, leading her to believe that she is losing control over the situation.

Additionally, the insider claims that while Meghan sympathizes with Kate’s current circumstances, it does not change her perspective on the overall situation. Meghan is reportedly resigned to the fact that Harry’s efforts to reconcile with William and Kate may be a “losing battle,” as she believes he is making a mistake in attempting to resolve their differences.

The forthcoming visit of Prince Harry to the United Kingdom next month holds significance as it coincides with a special service commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games at St. Paul’s Cathedral. This event assumes added poignancy in light of the recent health challenges faced by members of the Royal Family.

Last month, the Princess of Wales courageously shared a video message disclosing her decision to undergo preventative chemotherapy treatment for an unspecified form of cancer, following abdominal surgery earlier in the year. With the support of Prince William and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the Princess’s health battle has reportedly prompted Prince Harry to seek a heartfelt reunion, enabling him to offer his support during this trying time. Earlier this year, King Charles III also disclosed his own cancer diagnosis, prompting a brief visit from Prince Harry, who subsequently returned home.

According to Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, the ill-health of family members could potentially serve as a catalyst in thawing the frosty relations between Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William. He stated, “With Catherine and the King’s illness – that is an enormous game changer even when there are deep family rifts.”

However, reports suggest that the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, has found it challenging to move past her past grievances. Despite the passage of over four years since their departure from the Royal Family, the Duchess is said to remain aggrieved by the turmoil they endured and unable to fully forgive the Windsors for an apology that never materialized.

The source stated: “She desires for Kate to make a complete recovery, and for the family to be well, but four years after departing, she remains distressed by the circumstances and can never fully pardon the royals for the ordeal they subjected her and Harry to, as they have never offered an apology.”

Since their decision to relinquish their Royal duties in January 2020 and relocate to California, where they are raising their two children, Archie, aged four, and Lilibet, aged two, Meghan and Harry have been quite vocal about their experiences as members of the Royal Family.

One such avenue is Harry’s memoir titled ‘Spare’, published in 2023, which offers candid insights into his Royal experiences. In the book, Harry, who is scheduled to visit his homeland next month, describes his brother William as his “beloved brother and arch-nemesis,” recounting a physical altercation from 2019 that ostensibly arose from name-calling directed at Meghan, labeling her as “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive.”

The apparent cultural disparities between the transatlantic regions have seemingly fueled tensions, with Meghan and Kate’s American and British inclinations clashing on more than one occasion.

The once-heralded ‘fab four,’ comprising the two Royal brothers and their respective spouses, has witnessed better days. Harry, who once affectionately referred to Kate as the “sister I’ve never had and always wanted” in his memoir, now finds himself distanced from William and Kate.

Meghan, who became Harry’s wife in a fairytale wedding at St George’s Chapel in 2018, is reportedly harboring concerns that attempting to mend fences could lead to further pain.

“She feels William has made it clear that he doesn’t want a reconciliation and hasn’t made any effort, he could have quite easily made time for Harry when he’s been in the UK,” the source claimed.

The source stated: “This isn’t all on Harry but because of the current situation, there’s no way William will offer an olive branch. Meghan just doesn’t want to see him hurt again as it’s taken him years to finally get over the fallout.”
