Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly in a state of dismay after a biting Vanity Fair article that surfaced last week – and “things aren’t good for them right now,” it is claimed.
The feature in the prestigious magazine, headlined ‘Inside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Big Business Ambitions, 5 Years After Their Royal Exit’, cast a spotlight on the Sussexes’ ventures post-Meghalaya, alleging insights such as someone from Meghan’s circle scouting for a potential post-divorce book deal, and claims that Beyoncé snubbed an offer to feature on Meghan’s erstwhile podcast Archetypes.
It even speculated on Harry being content with Meghan being the chief wage earner.
It has left the estranged royals “upset and bruised”, Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield divulged to Sky News Australia.
Kinsey claimed the couple were particularly displeased by the piece, revealing: “It is my understanding that they are upset over it [and] I’m being told that things aren’t good for them right now, between Meghan’s show being postponed, which I’ve heard was Netflix’s idea, and just the idea that she has worked so hard to rebrand herself and here comes a very respected publication reiterating some of the nastiest claims about her.
Meghan and Harry are trying to define their brand
“So I think they are bruised and they’re sitting back trying to figure out how to process going forward.”
In a recent event examining their response to the LA wildfires, Ms Schofield implied, according to the Express, that the couple’s actions might have backfired, failing to garner the sympathetic public eye they might have hoped for, reports the Mirror US.
Meghan’s upcoming series, With Love, Meghan, has been rescheduled for a March 4 premiere, having initially been slated to air last week. Prior to the original launch date, Meghan issued a statement explaining the delay of the eight-part series, stating: “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”
Netflix has already revealed some of the guests who will feature on the show, including Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling and Alice Waters, with the streaming service teasing “additional acclaimed chefs and special friends.”
