Liam Payne’s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, has shared the heartbreaking moment she received a devastating message three days after his tragic death. The One Direction star tragically died at 31 after falling from a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Speaking out for the first time since his death, an emotional Kate revealed that it was a message about Halloween decorations that brought home the reality of Liam’s absence. She had hired a man to fix their lights and he messaged her three days after Liam’s death asking if he had liked his Halloween surprise.
It was then that the devastating truth hit her. In a tearful confession, Kate admitted that she never thought something could happen to Liam and they lived their “own separate lives”.
During her interview, she spoke about Liam in the present tense before correcting herself. Heartbreakingly, she confessed to The Sun that she still calls Liam’s phone just to hear his voicemail.
After his death, she would fall asleep listening to his songs, but now she can’t bear to play any of them. She said: “Maybe one day, but not right now”, reports the Mirror.
Following Liam’s Death, Kate took to social media to share about their dreams of engagement. On Instagram, she opened up about a heartwarming moment where Liam had written a secret note with instructions for her not to look.
“A few weeks ago, we sat outside on a beautiful evening manifesting our lives together. I keep your note close, even though you told me not to look at it. It said, ‘Me and Kate to marry within a year engaged and together forever 444’. Liam, I know we’ll be together forever, but not in the way we had planned. You’ll always be with me. I’ve gained a guardian angel,” she wrote.
She added: “I will love you for the rest of my life and beyond, carrying our dreams and memories with me everywhere I go. Forever yours, Katelyn 444.” In 444 is an angel number that symbolises guidance, support, and love from the celestial guardians.
Liam and Kate’s first met in 2022 when Kate was working as waitress and she served the One Direction star at a bar in Charleston, South Carolina. For Liam, it was love at first sight, and he asked for her number, though things got off to a rocky start when Kate gave Liam her phone number but forgot to add +1 to her area code, as she had an American number.
