Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, is approaching her 60th birthday next week and it seems there could be some plans in the works within the royal family.
Sophie, who is married to King Charles‘ younger brother Prince Edward, will turn 60 on January 20.
But how will she celebrate – and what could the king have in store for the duchess?

Duchess Sophie celebrates 60th birthday on January 20
Speaking on behalf of JeffBet, former royal butler Grant Harrold told Royal Insider about what Sophie‘s birthday plans could include.
He said: “Sophie really doesn’t like any fuss and she’s very humble. She’s very dedicated to her job, her husband, her family and was very dedicated to the late queen. She’s now very dedicated to her brother-in-law.
“I have no doubt that the king will be planning a birthday party for her probably at Clarence House with as many royals there as possible.
“Sophie is a really lovely person and is very well loved and respected within the family and with the public. I’m sure she will also be having private celebrations with her own family. Everyone will be making a fuss of her.”

Prince Edward to ‘make sure’ Sophie feels ‘very special’ on her birthday
Elsewhere, Grant spilled how Prince Edward, 60, could celebrate the milestone birthday.
He told us: “Edward will make sure she feels very special and it is a real milestone for her. It’s actually hard to believe she’s 60 as she looks so good.
I have no doubt that the king will be planning a birthday party for her.
“The king and queen will no doubt get her presents as will the rest of the royals as well as her party. She is a senior member of the royal family and a very important and crucial one. But regarding the speculation she will get a new title, I don’t think she will as now the Duchess of Edinburgh following the passing of Queen Elizabeth and that’s a big title.”
Meanwhile, he added: “And as for any more responsibilities, I don’t think there will be as she and Edward already do a lot and have taken on more over the years.”
