Inside Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban’s 111 Acre Farm They Bought to Raise Their First Daughter

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have built a beautiful family over the years. Aside from the photos they share of their kids online, the duo keeps their two daughters away from the spotlight. While the doting parents own properties worldwide, they have a 111-acre farm where they moved to with their firstborn.

Hollywood power couple Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman may be well-known for their illustrious careers in the entertainment industry, but to their two daughters, they are simply known as mom and dad.

Their roles as parents are arguably the most important to the stars as soon after their marriage, Nicole and Keith made early plans to find the perfect family home.

Thinking about their then-future kids, the duo decided Australia was the right place to raise their family. Thus, they purchased a beautiful property there to raise Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret Kidman Urban.

Australia holds a special place in both Nicole and Keith’s hearts as they exchanged vows there. They wed on June 25, 2006, after meeting in January 2005 and getting engaged in November of that same year (2005). On June 25, 2024, Nicole and Keith will reach the milestone of 18 years of marriage.

Following their nuptials, the pair, who consider Australia their home, thanked their fans and informed them that they had come home to celebrate their wedding with family and friends.

At the time, Nicole, who turns 57 today (June 20), revealed that she was excited to have met her mate, the person who loves and protects her. She said, “We’re crazy about each other.”

The Australian actress is in a good place and appears to have it all. She believes that she is navigating her way through the extraordinary situations of life. Even though she falls over and makes mistakes, she picks herself up and hopes for the best.

A Look at the Couple’s Farmhouse

Nicole and Keith started investing in properties as a couple soon after they married. In 2008, the same year they welcomed their first child together, they bought their first family home, a 12,000-square-foot mansion in Nashville.

The couple loves the lifestyle in Nashville because everyone minds their business, so they have total privacy. However, that same year, they secretly bought 111 acres of land in Bunya Hill, Australia.

They invested in the perfect Australian retreat the same week their daughter, Sunday, was born, even though getting pregnant was one of the biggest surprises Nicole had ever had.

The property purchased at Sutton Forest features an 1878 Georgian mansion with pressed-metal ceilings, a carved cedar staircase, wide sandstone verandas, and ten marble fireplaces.

Nicole owns cows and alpacas on the farm and has an orchard from which she makes homemade jams for friends and family. When asked about the advantages of living on a farm, she disclosed, “The simplicity, the air, and the peace.”

The color scheme of their home ranges from white and cream to darker colors. Upon entry, there is a modest foyer, and the first room in the hallway leads into the billiard room that has a pool table.

Opposite the billiard room sits their library. Wooden bookcases line the floor-to-ceiling space. Putting on her designer hat, Nicole decorated the chair in the library with an American flag pillow to remind her of home in the US.

The library also has connecting doors leading to other rooms, and there is a grand piano and a fireplace in the formal living room with a white color theme.

Keith and Nicole’s living room connects through the kitchen to the dining room, which has an eight-seater wooden dining table, and a large fireplace.

When seeking relaxation, Nicole and Keith’s veranda outside their home provides the perfect spot. They also used to keep their children’s strollers there. Additionally, there is a car for easy movement around the farm.

Behind the house, there is a fabulous small cottage for guests. The place features a fireplace and a much simpler kitchen than the rest of their home.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s First Child

In April 2005, Nicole knew that she wanted to have a baby as she felt that her biological clock was ticking and she had hormones running through her system. On July 7, 2008, Keith and Nicole welcomed their long-awaited first child together.

Nicole was 41 when her daughter, Sunday, became a part of their family. According to an author, the couple chose a unique name that people had hardly heard of since the 1940s, but it projected a lovely, sunny, and serene image.

When Sunday was born, the couple was spotted in Nashville, and life went back to normal very quickly as Nicole also worked hard to get her pre-baby body back.

Expanding Their Family

When the couple decided to have a second child, Nicole could not get pregnant, so they used a surrogate, which Nicole expressed deep gratitude for. Opening up about her struggle to get pregnant the second time around, she revealed that she had always had fertility issues and that she and Keith were desperate.

As she grew older, the actress knew that she had gotten to a stage where it would become harder for her to conceive, but she was open to having another child. Nicole had gone through disappointments, pain, and loss trying to get pregnant.

However, she and Keith managed to find a way and the couple welcomed their second daughter, Faith, on December 28, 2011. The thankful mother said their family was truly blessed.

Comparing the birth of her first child versus her second, Nicole went further to express that the bond and unconditional love are the same despite how Faith was welcomed into the world.

Her husband once shared in an interview that he had never loved deeply until he met Nicole, and when their daughters came along, the love widened and became expansive.

Explaining his sentiment further, he stated that Nicole inspires him, and marrying her was a life-altering experience as he did not comprehend what happened. Of his beloved wife and their kids, Keith divulged, “We’re really a tight family.”

They do everything as a family and even go everywhere together. When it was time to relocate, they had no qualms about packing up and leaving for Australia, the perfect place for them.

As for what they enjoy doing, everyone in the Kidman Urban family has a love for music. While Sunday plays the piano and is interested in the acting industry, Faith plays the violin.

However, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban do not pressure their children to follow in their footsteps. They will, however, support their children’s dreams and give them every motivation they need.
