GB News presenter Adam Brooks has refused to fight on the front line if Sir Keir Starmer involves UK in the Russian-Ukraine war. British citizens up and down the country are voicing their concerns about the growing tensions between the two countries. As the war rages on, many Brits have emphasised their unwillingness to participate in a potential conflict in Ukraine.
During Friday night’s (March 21) evening show, host Patrick Christys welcomed the political commentator onto the show where they discussed the possibility of conscription in the UK amidst the ongoing war. Brooks reported live from Essex where he spoke to locals about the conflict abroad, with many admitting that they would only fight if Britain itself were under direct attack.

Emphasising his role as a father, the presenter agreed, saying: “As a father, I won’t be losing my life and making my kids fatherless on a war that we don’t agree with”. Pub security guard Marcus echoed these sentiments, expressing a firm stance against involvement in the Ukraine conflict.
Marcus told GB News: “I’m not going to get involved in a war that’s got nothing to do with this country.” Both guests made a clear distinction between the Ukraine conflict and defending their homeland. Brooks added: “It’s got nothing to do with us.
“If someone was silly enough to invade Britain, then me and Marcus would be on the frontline straightaway.” Marcus also questioned the financial implications of Britain’s involvement in Ukraine.
He asked: “Where’s the money coming from? Forget about war. We’re not interested in war with Russia”. Their comments come as the UK government advances plans to potentially deploy peacekeeping troops to Ukraine as part of an international coalition.
A spokesperson for the Prime Minister recently confirmed that a “significant number” of countries are willing to provide peacekeeping troops in Ukraine. More than 30 countries are expected to be involved in the reported “coalition of the willing” to support Ukraine.

The spokesperson told the press: “The contribution capabilities will vary, but this will be a significant force, with a significant number of countries providing troops.” The UK and France have already confirmed their participation in this peacekeeping force.
However, not all countries will be sending troops, according to Downing Street. The spokesperson explained: “It involves more than sending troops and will involve contributing in other ways”. The British government is accelerating “the pace and scale of military planning” to support Ukraine, according to a statement on the UK government website.
A Downing Street spokesperson added that “thousands of troops will be required” in the event of a ceasefire agreement with Russia. When asked if group troops deployment was being considered, they said: “No, nothing is off the table on any of these fronts, so I wouldn’t start ruling anything out.”
British Special Forces have reportedly been put on standby to join the Ukraine peacekeeping mission, according to military sources. The UK is set to host military chiefs from countries ready to support a ceasefire agreement with Russia.
