David Beckham has broken his silence after again being snubbed for a knighthood, while a former aide continues to speak out about their alleged affair.
David Beckham has taken to social media to share his thoughts on an “unforgettable” year, focusing on family moments rather than missing out on a knighthood in the recent honours list.
Despite being overlooked again, with former England manager Gareth Southgate topping the end-of-year honours list, Beckham chose not to dwell on the past. The snub comes years after leaked emails from 2017 revealed Beckham’s frustration with the honours committee, whom he referred to as “unappreciative c***s”.
Now 49, the ex-England legend, who holds an OBE, has previously suggested that some of the leaked emails were tampered with. However, the controversy seems to have cast a long shadow over his prospects of earning the title of Sir.
In a move that sidesteps any hint of disappointment, Beckham’s Instagram post was a celebration of the year gone by, featuring snapshots with his wife Victoria, their children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, and a poignant final image with his late former England manager, Sven Goran Eriksson, who died in 2024 from cancer.
Beckham’s message to his followers was one of gratitude and well-wishes: “Happy New Year from myself, my wife and my amazing kids… Thank you for [an] unforgettable year and I want to wish everyone a happy and healthy 2025. Love David x.”

His focus has largely shifted to sunny Florida recently, where the family spent Christmas 2024, and where he channels his entrepreneurial spirit as co-owner of Inter Miami.
The football club, now boasting the legendary Lionel Messi, secured the Supporters’ Shield in 2024 for having the best regular season record in MLS, which is just one of the many triumphs Beckham has lately celebrated.
His achievements are a far cry from those of Wayne Rooney, who has just been dismissed from the Plymouth Argyle team.
Beckham’s fortunes rocketed further following the release of a Netflix documentary about his storied life, which hiked up earnings for his enterprise DRJB Holdings Limited to £28.75 million before tax – an improvement on the previous year’s £12.87m.
Furthermore, revenue increased modestly by two percent year-on-year to an impressive £72.44m.

These financial wins follow renewed speculation about Beckham’s past alleged affair with Rebecca Loos – something which he vehemently denies.
In a candid revelation on the Anything Goes podcast with James English, Loos shared her reasons behind going public back in 2004, saying she did it as a “f*** you” message in response to what she viewed as shoddy treatment.
Rebecca claimed: “I was hurt. Me going public was a ‘f*** you mate’ for treating me like that. Big time. It was. I don’t care how powerful you are, how much money you have. It’s not okay.”
She also reflected on the fallout, noting: “The funny thing is, I got the s***, Victoria got the s***, David f***ing never got any s***. That’s the world we live in.”
The Beckhams’ relationship currently seems stronger than ever, with David sharing power couple pictures recently of himself and Victoria posing on the staircase at their Miami home.
