A-listers settled in the audience during tonight’s BAFTA ceremony but were awarded an impromptu opening performance by former Doctor Who star David Tennant.
Much to viewers astonishment the famed British actor and host urged celebrities to partake in a sing-a-long with him.
The 53-year-old opened the show with The Proclaimers hit I Will Walk 500 miles while wearing a kilt paired with boots.
As he walked through the audience he picked on a few A-list stars to take part in his choice of song pushing the microphone towards them.
However, viewers at home begged him to stop as they took to social media and shared their fears.

One X user penned: “That was embarrassing #BAFTAs #BAFTA2025.”
A second agreed: “Make it stop, please, I beg you #Baftas.”
A third wrote: “Loving David Tennant, pure brilliant! But you know all the Americans are thinking, what the f**k is going on #BAFTAs.”
A fourth commented: “The whole audience is clapping and singing along, then you’ve got that one lady in the crowd who was like. She did not pass the vibe check. #TheBaftas #Baftas.”
“No way has David Tennant just got Camila Cabello to sing 500 miles by the proclaimers #BAFTA2025 #Baftas,” another shared.

During the show’s opening, he sang “walked 500 miles just to host one BAFTAs more” and immediately touched on some controversial topics as he launched into his opening spiel.
Following Donald Trump’s divisive re-election in November 2024, David slammed the president to a room full of Hollywood stars and British A-listers.
He evoked the president while commenting on The Brutalist, describing it as “a film about incredible architecture. In fact, it’s the boldest architecture in film this year, apart from Donald Trump’s hair in The Apprentice.”
Trump-based drama The Apprentice is up for three trophies at the BAFTAs, including Best Casting and acting nods for leading man Stan and supporting star Jeremy Strong as Roy Cohn.
