Amanda Holden, host of the Heart FM Breakfast show, has boldly stated that she believes the British public “don’t care” about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The comment comes in response to Graham Norton’s insistence that people just want the Sussexes to “live their lives” in their quiet neighbourhood of Montecito, California. Speaking on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, TV presenter Graham challenged the idea that everyday UK citizens are overly concerned with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Graham pointedly stated that Harry and Meghan’s conduct is far different from that of Prince William and Kate Middleton, who always manage to maintain an unblemished image. In a 2023 interview, Graham questioned the levels of public interest, musing: “Do regular people care that much? I don’t think they do. I think they just think let them live their lives.”
Then, during Saturday’s segment on Heart Breakfast, Amanda Holden showed support for Graham’s stance, agreeing wholeheartedly. The 53 year old confidently said: “I think you’re right. I think the press makes so much of it but none of us really care.”Amanda’s co-host at Heart Radio, was quick to add his agreement, chiming in: “I think we don’t care that much.”
It’s noteworthy that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a bold move of stepping back from Royal duties in 2020, relocating their family from Frogmore Cottage to the States, reports the Mirror.
From there, the couple has had a whirlwind ride through numerous personal controversies including the release of Harry’s eye-opening memoir titled Spare and their tell-all Netflix documentary series aptly named Harry and Meghan.
Meghan has also stepped into the business world with her new brand, American Riviera Orchard, and is eagerly awaiting the launch of its potential star product – a rose wine. Meghan is poised to join the league of celebrities like Kylie Minogue, Brad Pitt, and Sarah Jessica Parker who have launched their own alcoholic beverages.
Aside from wine, Meghan has also ventured into the world of artisan jam and took to Instagram to announce the launch, sending out 50 jars of her luxury jam to celebrity friends for a social media showcase.
This move marks a departure from the anticipated “tell-all” book that Royal watchers were expecting Meghan to release, which Emma Clifton, writer for Australian Women’s Weekly, hinted that is likely a welcome development for the Royal Family.
Emma noted: “What I’ve seen so far, although she’s been pretty clandestine about it everything surrounding this new brand, is that it’s Meghan and it’s Meghan alone. You can even see it on Instagram. It’s not Meghan and Harry – it’s by Meghan.
“This is the emancipation of Meghan. It’s her saying, ‘I’m a smart, savvy businesswoman. And here’s an introduction to my family on my terms’.”
