Chris Pratt’s stunt double, Tony McFarr has died at the age of 47. The actor mourned the death of his friend and shared how they used to bond together on set. McFarr’s heartbroken mother has also spoken out regarding the cause of his death and where the stuntman will be laid to rest.
Actor Chris Pratt is devastated after losing his former stunt double and friend Tony McFarr. McFarr, who died on May 13, 2024, in Orlando, Florida, starred with Pratt in several movies together such as “Jurassic World,” “Passengers,” and “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.”

The stuntman, who died at the age of 47, was close with Pratt and the two would golf, drink whiskey, and smoke cigars together on set. “I’ll never forget his toughness,” Pratt said of his friend.
The actor, who shared a tribute to McFarr on his Instagram stories, added, “I remember he took a nasty shot to the head (in the title sequence of Guardians 2) and got several staples in his head – he came right back to work ready to go again.”

Chris Pratt praised McFarr for his dedication and work ethic, calling him an “absolute stud,” “gentleman” and “professional.” He admitted that McFarr will “be missed” and sent his prayers to his friends and family, especially his former stunt double’s daughter.

According to his mom, Donna, the stuntman, who stepped in for some of Hollywood’s biggest stars such as Jon Hamm, was active and healthy.
So, his death is shocking and unexpected and the family doesn’t yet know the exact circumstances surrounding his demise. The Orange County Medical Examiner is in charge of the case and said the official cause of death is still unknown.

McFarr’s stunt career in Hollywood started in 2011 when he was featured in an episode of “Bones.” He thrived on, appearing as a stuntman in “Captain America: Civil War,” “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1,” “Teen Wolf” and several other films.

Aside from being a stuntman, he got acting credits in movies such as “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” “MacGyver,” “One Tree Hill,” and “The Darkest Minds.”
However, in his last years alive, he ventured into business, opening eateries in Florida, such as Reel Bowls, a poke and salad stop with a film theme.
Aside from his daughter, McFarr has left behind his sister, mom, and dad, who will gather in the next few weeks to celebrate the stuntman’s life. McFarr will be buried near his grandmother in Pennsylvania.
