Robert De Niro, the legendary actor known for his roles in movies such as “Goodfellas,” recently shared a heartwarming photo of himself with his 10-month-old daughter, Gia. The rare photo captured a tender moment as De Niro lovingly cradled Gia on his lap, gently resting his cheek against her head.
Gia looked absolutely adorable in her lovely onesie adorned with musical squirrels, and her joyful smile melted hearts. De Niro couldn’t help but express his admiration for his little bundle of joy. “She’s such a cute baby,” he gushed in an interview with People. “So sweet.”
At 80 years old, De Niro chuckled about the unique dynamics in his family, especially with his seventh child arriving at such a late stage in his life. “She amuses the youngsters to no end. The grandchildren even,” he shared. “She’s their aunt, and they’re about to become teenagers!”
In addition to Gia, De Niro is also a proud father to his other children: Drena, 56, Raphael, 47, twins Julian and Aaron, 28, Elliot, 25, and Helen, 12. He also has four grandchildren, including Drena’s 19-year-old son, Leandro, who sadly passed away from an accidental overdose last year.
During an emotional interview with AARP, the Oscar winner couldn’t contain his joy when discussing his newest addition to the family. “Everything that I’m consumed with or worried about just goes away when I look at her,” he said with a beaming smile. “It’s wondrous.”
In a separate interview with the Guardian, De Niro opened up about his home life with his partner Tiffany Chen, 45, and baby Gia. When asked about his age, he candidly admitted that he has taken a step back from “the heavy lifting.” Instead, he takes on a supportive role for Chen. “I’m there to support my girlfriend. But she does the work,” he explained. “And we have help, which is so important.”
De Niro and Chen first crossed paths in 2021 while working on the set of De Niro’s film “The Intern” in 2015. “When we were working, it was just work,” Chen shared during an interview on “CBS Mornings.” Their romance blossomed in July 2023 when they reconnected and realized how well they truly got along.
Prior to his relationship with Chen, De Niro had been married to Diahnne Abbott from 1976 to 1988 and Grace Hightower from 1997 to 2018. Now, he is enjoying the joys of fatherhood once again, cherishing every moment with his adorable daughter, Gia.
