Davina McCall has announced her return to work following her recovery from brain surgery in typically stylish style.

The much loved presenter has shared a fun video to her social media announcing her return, and it is a spoof of The Devil Wears Prada that comes complete with a cameo from Dragon’s Den star Steven Bartlett. In the video, a group of office workers can be seen madly scrambling as they wait for a VIP arrival.

The staff clear their desks, brighten the office sofa and generally panic as one woman announces: “She’s on her way!” We then see a woman in heels walking towards the office and into the lift, filmed from behind so her identity is not revealed. When the lift doors open, Steven Bartlett sees who it is and exits the lift, saying, “Sorry Davina,” and the mystery woman is revealed to be, of course, Davina McCall. She says “I’m back,” and as the screen fades to black, the words “Begin again” appear, referencing her podcast of the same name.

Davina took a break from filming in autumn 2024 to undergo brain surgery for a colloid cyst, and has since been recovering at home. Her podcast, Begin Again, launched in September 2024 with Davina pre-recording a catalogue of episodes to publish weekly and continue throughout her recovery.

Davina has returned to filming to work with new producer, Mollie Finn, who previously produced podcast hits Saving Grace with GK Barry and Chloe Burrow’s Chloe vs. The World. Mollie also cameos in the video as ‘new girl’ Andy as part of the homage to the classic Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep-starring movie.

The presenter and Masked Singer judge recently chatted to friend Jamie Theakston, who has been given the all clear following his diagnosis with laryngeal cancer, about both their health battles on his Heart radio show. After admitting she had just given Jamie a long teary hug, Davina said: “I’m worried about talking in case I set myself off again,” before breaking down in tears. “Oh, what are we like, the two of us?” Jamie mused as co-host Amanda Holden told listeners: “There’s been lots of tears this morning.”

Fighting back the tears, Davina then told Jamie: “I’m just so happy to see you, I can’t believe it! Can I be honest? When I hugged you that day here and I came round the back of you, how I like it, and put my arms around your throat- but like as a cuddle- And you went ‘ouch, ouch, ouch’ and I looked at you and though ‘oh my goodness I think I’ve really, really hurt him.’”

“You looked genuinely in agony, and I thought it wasn’t acting, do you know what I mean? And I thought, ‘but I’m sure I didn’t hug you that hard,’ but I felt I carried that for a very long time and you…” Beginning to cry again, Davina emotionally told Jamie: “You getting better means so much to me.”

“Well, listen, without you doing that, I would not have known that there was something wrong with my throat,” Jamie reassured Davina. “So in actual fact, it wasn’t that you did any damage, it was the opposite.”
