Coleen Nolan says she’s ‘turned 60 feeling strong and confident’ and ‘proud’ of what she’s achieved – but admits that she still worries about money as she gets older.
Coleen Nolan of Loose Women fame has spoken candidly about her financial concerns as her 60th birthday approaches in March. In an interview with Closer UK, Coleen shared her thoughts on this milestone birthday.
Despite feeling empowered and confident as she enters a new decade, Coleen – who recently invited OK! into her new home in the countryside – admits that financial worries still keep her up at night. She revealed: “I’m turning 60 feeling strong and confident, and quite proud of what of what I’ve achieved, especially in the past few years when I’ve achieved it on my own.”
“Of course, I still lie in bed at night worrying about how I’m going to pay the bills, but it gives me the incentive to work hard, and that’s good.” Considering her financial concerns, Coleen is planning a low-key celebration for her 60th birthday after splurging on her 40th and 50th birthdays.
She said: “My 40th and 50th birthdays were big events, but they cost a lot of money, so this year I just want to be surrounded by friends and family, even they come here for a little party,” according to Lancs Live. As a long-time Loose Women panellist since 2000, Coleen has formed strong bonds with her ITV co-stars, saying: “We’re good friends, as well as colleagues.”, reports the Mirror.
Coleen gushed about her everlasting friendships with her co-stars outside of the show, revealing: “Ruth (Langsford) and I will be friends forever outside of work and the same goes for Brenda (Edwards), Janet (Street-Porter) and Christine (Lampard).”
Marking Loose Women’s impressive 25th anniversary, she opened up about her love for the beloved daytime programme and tackled the persistent gossip about off-screen drama. She put the record straight: “If we hated each other as much some people say we do, we wouldn’t still be going 25 years later.”
Loose Women continues to air every weekday at 12.30pm on ITV.
